QOTW: What country of origin do your favorite cigars come from?
Hey guys,
I decided to start a new weekly segment called the Question of the Week. In these posts, I will pose a question to you, the reader. Feel free to respond in the comments section, where you can also reply to other comments with our “threaded comments” feature. Anyway, on to the Question of the Week.
What country of origin do your favorite cigars come from?
For me, Nicaragua has the best tobacco on the planet right now. Most of my favorite cigars contain at least some Nicaraguan tobacco, but generally Nicaraguan tobacco is the majority in quite a few of my favorites. Brands like Tatuaje, Don Pepin Garcia, Illusione, Padron, and Oliva all use Nicaraguan tobacco, and these brands are among some of my all time favorites.

Nicaragua and Cuba with a few exceptions.
Gnerally Dominican Republic. My favorite brand is R&J with AF a close second but I do love many of the cigars from Nicaraguan decent as well. Padron Anny’s are obviously the best, hands down, of any cigar. Tatuaje is another great example. I Like the idea of a true Puro but there are some amazing blends out there too. Kind of wishy washy on this one I guess. I just love a good cigar period, no matter where it comes from!
NIC, and cuba
I have to say Cuba has the best tobacco hands down followed closely by Nicaragua. The problem with Cuban tobacco is consistency. One vitola produced one year may taste entirely different than the next. If they are on they are great. If they are off they are terrible.
Nicaragua has that problem licked. Pepin and Padron cigars are consistent. You know what you are getting. Most of the cigars I smoke are from there.
Dominican tobacco has a metallic flavor I just can’t get past.
Definately Nicaragua right now.
My two favorite countries for cigars are the Dominican Republic and Nicaragua.
I think those two countries produce some of the best tasting and best performing tobacco in the world.
Cuba has the best tobacco for sure how ever I like nicaragua as well because padron comes from there
