Illusione ~68~ Cigar Review

Today, I’m reviewing the Illusione ~68~. This cigar was created by Dion Giolito, and he was kind enough to send me one to review. I thoroughly enjoyed the cigar, but have been plagued with high humidity here in South Florida. I also featured the Cigar Spike in this video. If you haven’t check out this little cigar tool, you are missing out. It worked well, and would be a lot better than teeth or fingernails in a pinch. Thanks for watching, and I hope you enjoy!

Nice review. I had 1 of these in a bigger size and liked it very much. I did not have the burn issues that you did, but then again I smoked it inside my house ;)

Gonna have to pik me up some spikes one of these days – I was tweeting about them and I never even got any yet..LOL

  2. Nice review. I split a box of those with @sirpantsornot recently and I have just about finished them all off. Nice little smokes. Great for in the car.

  3. The Illusione 68 is probably my favorite cigar, period. I rencently purchased my third box in about 5 months. Can’t stop smoking them…! The process you go through to fix your cigar is called “purging” by Doc Stogie Fresh. If you don’t listen to his podcast, you should check him out. Cool that it fixes your bad burn, but it also blows out any unburned gases or ammonia-like flavors. It’s a good thing to do a few times while smoking any cigar.
Good review, thanks for posting it.

  4. Thanks for the review. I’m new to your site. How can I get some of them Cigar Spikes?

  5. Illusione is the best overall brand I’ve smoked in a long time. Gino and the boys know their stuff…

  6. Give the illusione 68 another chance and use a cutter. The idea of spikes has been in, and out of fad for cigar smokers because they only seem to preform well with mild body cigars. Medium body and up the amount of oil in the tobacco plugs the cap and alters the taste and smoking experience.

  7. Thanks for the comments, Curt. I am a big fan of the Doc, and listen to him weekly.

  8. Great to have you as a fan! You can purchase them at http://cigarspike.com

  9. I liked the Illusione. I think it was the humidity that caused a problem.
